“I do know that the god you can say / Is not the real God.”

Dark Brain
I want to know who God is.
I do know that the god you can say
Is not the real God.
But I don’t want to know
Who God is not
I want to know who God is.
If I knew, I would tell you.
Not because I think you don’t know
But just because I think that is
The best gift one human can give
To another one.
I don’t know why I want to give you
The best gift. I just know I do.
But I can’t. Because I don’t have it.
Shouldn’t my wanting to count for something?
To hell with you.
I want to know who God is.
